La Odisea del mar
Este espectáculo se presentó del 20 al 22 de abril de 2012 por invitación de la ciudad de Liverpool. Una creación diseñada para celebrar el centenario del hundimiento del famoso Titanic - 800.000 espectadores.
Los icebergs son cazadores de barcos y los habitantes de Liverpool inmensos niños con los ojos llenos de esperanza y rebelión. Para el insumergible Titanic el primer viaje fue también el ultimo.
Pero vamos ya a la historia de un pasajero particular embarcado en secreto: lo cargaron de noche, fuera de alcance de las miradas - era un gigante de 10 metros de alto capaz de atravesar el tiempo, que iba a reunirse con su hija la Pequeña Giganta en el otro continente.
Los Gigantes no envejecen, tampoco crecen, se quedan estacionarios con la edad que tienen para la eternidad, al menos si no mueren.
La catástrofe tuvo lugar en el Atlántico, toda la gente conoce los detalles del accidente. El buque era el orgullo de Liverpool y muchos oficios de la ciudad habían sido reclutados principalmente para encargarse del mantenimiento del navío y del bienestar de los pasajeros.
Pero volvamos a nuestro pasajero gigante atorado en una des las calas del barco: recibió de frente la cuchillada del iceberg. El mar se vertía con tal violencia que le fue imposible moverse. Apresado, cayó con el Titanic unos vertiginosos 4000 metros.
Creemos que sabiendo que la muerte se acercaba, aprovechó una ultima vez este ascensor submarino para descansar por fin en una nube de polvo.En la superficie los supervivientes paralizados esperaban milagros - hubo quienes fueron rescatados, eso también se sabe.
Cuando a la Pequeña Giganta le llegó la noticia, buscó a su tío, el hermano del Gran Gigante. Al escucharla el tío tomó una decisión que acaso lo mantendría ocupado por un siglo. Primero confeccionar un traje de buzo. Después, buscar los restos del barco depositados en el fondo del mar.
Luego sepultar a su hermano en el fondo del océano y sobretodo traer de vuelta la carta que el Gran Gigante le había escrito a la Pequeña Giganta. Así es que arrastró el baúl del servicio postal del Titanic para traer el correo a Liverpool, caminando largos años en le fondo del océano.
Aunque todos estos trágicos acontecimientos pudieran menoscabar el ánimo de la Pequeña Giganta, decidió aceptar el reto de acudir a la cita.
A leer las revistas antes de emprender el viaje, tuvo conciencia de dos otras mitologías presentes en Liverpool: la música de los Beatles que ella está descubriendo y la increíble, furiosa y loca afición por el fútbol de esta ciudad rebelde.
Entonces decidió emprender un crucero dentro de la ciudad en un barco que boga por la carretera e instalar su primer campamento entre los dos estadios, en le parque Stantley, en el barrio norte de la ciudad. Por magia, pocas horas antes de su llegada, un géiser brotó del suelo en el centro de la urbe para saludar su arribo.
